Meet Neha Gunnoo, the founder of Luova Digital, specializing in digital content strategy and marketing with clients and partners around the globe. Neha was previously the co-founder and CMO of LeFinTech Ltd. She is a regular speaker at local and international events, host and owner of the Bold Enough Podcast, mentor and member of the advisory board of Minority Africa.
Here’s her inspiring success story.
My journey is one of passion, resilience, and relentless pursuit of dreams.
Ditching the conventional 9-5 life, I ventured into the entrepreneurial realm as a co-founder of a fintech startup. The highs and lows of this experience paved the way for my second act: solopreneur.
Throughout my life, I was always told not to venture into the unknown and was encouraged to follow instead of leading. However, I couldn't ignore my passion and ambition for entrepreneurship—I yearned to create something of my own. I can proudly say that I am the first successful woman entrepreneur in my family, paving the way for future generations.
In 2019, starting my first business was exciting, but it didn't come without its challenges. From founders' conflicts to an unsupportive environment, the struggle was real. I eventually chose my mental health above all and exited the startup. As entrepreneurs, we are often told to keep on hustling and never give up. But my first experience in business taught me that a real entrepreneur should know when to give up and, that nothing is more important than your mental health.
In 2021, I founded Luova Digital as a solopreneur that focuses on providing digital content solutions and bringing brands' stories to life. Along this journey, I’ve been humbled to receive the Startup Award (Silver) 2023, the Rising Star of the Year Award 2022 from Women in Tech Africa, and the nomination for Marketing Influencer by Technology for Marketing.
Outside the realm of digital strategy and entrepreneurship, I am a wanderer at heart, with a love for exploring new cultures, landscapes, and stories. In 2023, I officially became a digital nomad, running the business from different countries and cities. My story is ongoing, a continuous journey of learning, growing, and striving to make a difference. My mission is to inspire and empower.
The Musements by Neha Gunno
Musement means a state of thinking. It is proactive, not passive. It requires intentional effort on the part of the person being "mused." It is much more satisfying and fulfilling than mere amusement. It’s stimulating, too, but in this case, in order to get the input, the participant needs to be actively engaged.
1. Discover what ignites your passion and pursue it as your professional endeavor. Making a career out of what you love can transform your work into a source of fulfillment and motivation.
2. Remember that your business is not your life; it's part of your life. Embrace flexibility and work-life balance.
3. True leadership isn't conferred by completing courses; it's forged through practical experience and the demonstration of empathy in guiding others. Leadership is a journey of continuous learning and personal growth.
4. A real entrepreneur should know when to pivot or let go of an endeavour to explore new avenues. This adaptability can lead to discovering new paths to success.
5. Prioritize your mental health above all else. It is the foundation of your well-being and the cornerstone of sustained productivity and creativity in both personal and professional realms.
6. Contribute to the growth of others by sharing your insights and experiences. The act of giving back not only strengthens community bonds but also enriches your own journey with new perspectives and connections.
7. Trust your gut when evaluating new business partnerships and opportunities. If something feels off, you're probably right.
8. Not everyone will understand and believe in your vision or dreams. What matters most is your own happiness and the fulfillment derived from pursuing your passions.
9. Establish firm boundaries and learn how to say "no" to people and opportunities that do not align with your values or objectives.
10. Celebrate every achievement, no matter how small. These milestones are integral to your journey.
